Tecia Torres will be looking to get back into the UFC 235's weight-for-straw division, but she will have to face a great beginner.
UFC announced Thursday that the "small tornado" would meet Weili Zhang at the March 2 rally at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Torres (10-3) had a good start to the UFC, winning six of his first seven fights, with a decisive win against Michelle Waterson at UFC 218. But the Colorado Springs-based rival dropped back to unanimous decisions since, losing to Jessica Andrade and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Zhang (18-1), meanwhile, is one of the most rising stars of the MMA in China. The 29-year-old has won 18 straight games after giving up her professional debut, which includes her two fights at the UFC. Zhang turned heads with the first-round presentation of veteran Jessica Aguilar last weekend at UFC Beijing. Zhang has 16 finishes among his 18 career wins.
The fight is the first officially announced for UFC 235.
