As a derivative of the original games, I have a soft spot for THQ's Darksiders games. The first, starring War, was actually an uninspired clone of Legend of Zelda with a unique artistic style. This is not a slight against the game because it has used the template well. The second one added too much RPG elements (losing a little of his soul in the process), but it was still fun to mow enemies like Death itself. When THQ was dissolved in early 2013 and its properties were sold, the entire franchise was pending; shocking, since we still had two other riders to play.
Still, there was hope. In the grand salon of the THQ property, Nordic Games took over the intellectual property of Darksiders and has since brought back THQ itself. In May of last year, a list of retailers for the still unannounced Darksiders 3 came up, prompting THQ Nordic to officially announce the match. Now a list of Microsoft stores has revealed that it could be released this year – November 27th. It is developed by the Gunfire Games, which is mainly composed of former Vigil staff, who worked on the original games.
Here is the description for the game says:
Back to an apocalyptic land in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash action adventure where players assume the role of FURY in his quest to track down and dispose of the seven deadly sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to balance the forces now ravaging the Earth. Darksiders III is the long-awaited third chapter of the critically acclaimed Darksiders franchise
