Google has just made a minor but significant change to one of its best mobile apps, Google Maps. The company has been refining Google Maps design for a few months now, making a number of changes that would align the popular navigation application with new guidelines for materials design. What Google has not changed so far is the sidebar of the app. But you will soon see an updated menu in the Google Maps application because Google has now updated it to fit the rest of the app's design.
Spotted by Android font the new design brings a new font, Product Sans, as well as empty icons.
The menu, which slides on the map screen when you touch this hamburger icon in the upper left corner, also includes a new posts tab that allows you to interact with businesses. You'll find him stuck between Your contributions and Sharing place (see screenshot on the right above).
Another notable change concerns the Terms of use and privacy policy items that should be found at the bottom of the menu, allowing quick access to these particular sections of the application.
The new menu design should be extended to everyone right now, Android font says, including stable users and beta from Google Maps. If you do not see it yet, it simply means it has not been deployed in your market, but you can expect it to drop soon. In addition, the update should be launched before Android on Android, but iPhone users will also have updated design in the near future.
