The new Samsung Electronics smartwatch will be released along with the next Galaxy Note 9 on August 24, reports ZDNet Korea.
The notebook, called Galaxy Watch, will be available in two different size versions with the Tizen operating system, the report said.
The health care devices will be the main design and the company will have "killer applications" linked to them, the report added.
The Galaxy Watch will be unveiled with the Galaxy Note 9 at Unpacked on August 9 in New York. Like the Galaxy Note 9, it will begin pre-orders on August 14 and will go on sale the same day of August 24.
This is the first time that Samsung uses the name Galaxy Watch for its smartwatch. The previous products were primarily geared to the Gear brand – Gear Gear, Gear Sports Gear, among others – and were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress or IFA.
Holding separate launch events for smartphones and watches have had little marketing benefit and it's best to launch them together to maximize the Galaxy brand, ZDNet Korea said.
Earlier this week, blogger Evan Blass posted a photo of what is supposed to be the Galaxy Note 9 with a yellow S-Pen.
