It is this time of year again, people.

At the time the sofas are installed, the controls are ordered and the drinking games are launched with the intention of completely destroying the hashtag.

It would be nothing but the Toy show, guys.

And while we've all been excited enough for the new edition of everyone's favorite Christmas tradition this year, sometimes it's nice to take a look back at the past, to see what craic looked like in the past. ;time.

And yes, 2003 is not this A long time ago, but you would be absolutely forgiven for thinking that it was based on this video.

Shared on RTE today as part of their Archives series, things start rather normally as reporter Cathal Murray does her best to give viewers a glimpse of what they should expect from the series.

After being denied access to the studio by a real bouncerCathal suddenly appears behind a Christmas tree, stealthily concealing his form as he tries to get the coveted scoop.

Cathal then finds some kids who will be playing on the show that night, including a young man who will sing She's The One of Robbie Williams because he's coming to send a video and asked "and a little girl" surprised "by Santa Claus.

Pretty.

Pat Kenny also pretends to drop the bomb that there will be a "variety" of toys in the series this year.

I would never have thought that, yes.

Cathal is ruthlessly expelled from the studio by the aforementioned bouncer before he can get more information.

But, to be honest, at this point we had seen almost everything.

You can watch the full video here.
