Familiarity breeds content inside the Audi e-tron prototype.

While new images of the precursor of the first fully electric Audi show that the limits will be pushed back with its innovative camera virtual rear view mirror option and its new concept of operation and digital display.

Technology makes things easy

When sound is desirable, the space is so completely isolated from the outside world that it also provides the perfect scene for the Premium Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system

Great stage for the Audi e-tron prototype

The Royal Danish Playhouse in Copenhagen paved the way for the first glimpse of the Audi e-tron prototype. Where actors and artists normally appear in front of an audience of up to 650 people, the spotlight was focused on the all-electric SUV, still wrapped in its e-tron camouflage.

As a concert hall, the electric SUV delivers a pure sound experience through the premium Bang & Audio System Olufsen, which reproduces music precisely thanks to 16 speakers and an amplifier delivering up to 705w of power.

The Cubist Design Language and the Virtual Outdoors Mirror

The scene inside the Audi e-tron prototype forms a large arc, the wraparound. It envelops the vast dashboard with pronounced horizontal lines as round as the carved door trim.

It seamlessly incorporates the hood over- above the standard Audi virtual cockpit whose smooth display stands visually free in the space, as well as the displays of optional virtual outdoor mirrors.

These mirrors will make their world premiere in the mass production version of the Audi e-tron prototype, bringing digitalisation to the car to a whole new level.

Virtual exterior mirrors not only offer a new technological experience, but also many practical advantages in terms of comfort and safety. Their flat mount incorporates a small camera whose image is digitally processed and displayed on 7-inch OLED displays with high contrast to the inside.

The driver can enter different parameters using the touch screen function. The details of the image can be moved, providing the required field of view, while the user can also zoom in or out on the image.

The driver can choose from three views in the MMI system for different situations – for highway driving, turning and parking.

Another eye-catching feature inside is the tunnel's center console that rests on open flanks. The palm rest with integrated shift lever seems to float above the console. Lightness and performance are merged into one. The entire driver area focuses squarely on the driver

The electrification is animated

On each line of equipment, the interior of the prototype Audi e-tron features carefully coordinated upholstery materials, colors and inlays. From its refined Valcona leather to its dark brushed aluminum, the electric SUV meets the highest quality standards in terms of know-how and choice of materials.

Sewing on the seats creates a pattern that is reminiscent of printed circuit boards. As an option, the contrasting seams and piping in orange stand out brilliantly – inspiring from the high-voltage electrical system.

The optional outline / ambient lighting package illuminates the surfaces and accurately but subtly traces the baselines of the interior. The e-tron badge in the dashboard is also backlit.

Large space for five occupants

With its long wheelbase of 2,928 mm, the Audi e-tron prototype offers ample space for five occupants and their luggage. The interior length, the head height at the front and rear as well as the knee spot in the second row of seats are first class in the full size SUV segment.

On the back, a flat tray – instead of the central tunnel that we usually find in conventional models – creates additional space.

The feeling of calm on board [19659002] With its combination of electric drive and a comfortable and sophisticated interior, the Audi e-tron prototype creates a new sense of mobility.

When driving in the city in particular, it gives off a sense of almost perfect calm. The only sounds come from his tires and the soft hum of electric motors.

Acoustic comfort is one of the strengths of all Audi models. The Audi e-tron prototype still raises this level, offering exceptional comfort over long distances. Its body has special soundproofing and sealing in all areas that can transmit interference.

Wind noise, which dominates acoustic perception at a speed of about 52 mph, is barely reaching the occupants. Thus, passengers can talk comfortably even at high speed.
