Vivo NEX is the Chinese device that has revolutionized the world of smartphones. In fact, before the Vivo NEX, it was the prototype of APEX that had shocked the press at the MWC 2018 with its frameless, notch-free design and the first motorized video camera. It seems that the new generation of Vivo smartphones (which we will call for the moment NEX 2) is coming soon and that a first curious unboxing video has already appeared.
shortcuts:
Goodbye pop-up
One of the features of Vivo NEX was certainly the presence of a concealed and motorized front camera. The second generation of smartphones seems to want to give up this feature. In the first images of the camera that have filtered on Weibo, we can indeed see a double rear camera locked in a small circle at the back of the camera. A third camera is also present on the opposite side of the flash.
What is striking, however, is the presence of a second screen on the back of the smartphone, like the recently launched Nubia X. This would also allow you to use the main unit for taking pictures. Obviously, the popup camera in this case would have been superfluous.
Lunar Ring: stand out from the crowd
The small semicircle visible around the cameras is called the lunar ring. How do we know? Simple, Mrwhosetheboss tell us. YouTuber posted a video on his smartphone, but he could not reveal the brand or the design. What he showed is the lunar ring illuminated by RGB LEDs on the back of the NEX 2. A distinctive sign, similar to that of the Razer Phone 2 RGB logo.
There is a lot to discover.
Unfortunately, we can not extrapolate a lot of information from this unpacking. The dual display and the triple camera are confirmed, but no specification is mentioned. The launch of the smartphone is planned for the period around the MWC 2019, unless Vivo decides not to challenge the Galaxy S10 and all its variants. Even prices and availability are still shrouded in mystery.
Would you like to buy a dual-display smartphone or do you prefer the variant of the camera pop-up? Let us know in the comments.
