A man died instantly after being struck by a vehicle on the westbound bypass in Windhoek yesterday.
The spokesman of the municipal police, Edmund Khoaseb, confirmed the fatal accident that occurred a few minutes after 07:00.
"It seems that speed and reckless driving may have been involved," he said.
The driver would have doubled another vehicle on the shoulder of the double line on the road where the pedestrian was. Khoaseb added, adding that the driver was slightly injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The relatives of the deceased have not yet been informed of his death.
Khoaseb warned the public against setting speed limits.
