The fast asteroid should not approach the Earth before April, but if it does, shaving will be incredibly tight. In the past, the asteroid had visited the corner of the Earth three times between February 2010 and April 2016.

Next week, the asteroid will likely overtake Earth for the last time in the near future, but will do so very closely.
According to NASA, the space block will reach April 4 a minimum distance of 0.00285 astronomical unit (au) from the Earth.

An astronomical unit is about 149 million km, which is the average distance between the Earth and the Sun.
NASA expects the GE1 asteroid to drastically reduce this distance next week to just 264,924 miles (426,353 km).
The JPL said it's about 1.11 times the distance from Earth to the moon.
But the close approach does not mean that the asteroid will reach us soon and there is a good chance that the asteroid will pass the Earth four times farther than the moon.

NASA said that the nominal near – approach distance of the asteroid measured about 1.49 million km.
NASA also said that the asteroid measured somewhere between 13 and 28 m (42.6 ft).
At the higher end of this scale, the asteroid is more than three times longer than a London double-decker bus.
After the Earth 's move into space next Thursday, NASA is planning no further near – approach of the asteroid in the near future.
