NASA's double four-year experience brings us closer than ever to Mars

Twin astronauts Scott and Mark Kelly participated in a groundbreaking NASA study aimed at discovering the long-term effects of space on the human body. For almost a year, the twins underwent the same medical examinations: one aboard the International Space Station and the other on their return to Earth. The findings, published in the journal Science, reveal that a year in space has on the human body a considerable impact but does not put one's life in danger, which gives hope that a trip to longer term to Mars will actually be possible in the future.
