With Daryl Morey in charge as the Sixers’ new president of basketball operations, it’s always safe to assume something could be cooking.
Ahead of Wednesday night’s NBA Draft, Morey and the Sixers were linked with stars Bradley Beal and Zach LaVine, according to Yahoo Sports’ Vince Goodwill.
Goodwill notes that “Neither front has given any indication that either player is available.”
Still, it’s remarkable to see the Sixers learning about the two players. With Beal, a relevant context is that the Wizards and Rockets discussed a deal involving John Wall and Russell Westbrook, according to Athlete’s Shams Charania. This apparent openness to swapping one of the team’s main stars – even though she hasn’t played in an NBA game since December 26, 2018 due to injury – could suggest Washington is considering a change of direction.
Again, however, Goodwill reports that neither the Wizards nor the Bulls are indicating that Beal or LaVine are on the table.
