“LJ is heartbroken. He wanted to play so badly tonight,” Altman said. “Aarons’ situation is a little different. He was transferred for the purpose of sitting down. That was the reason. LJ had a lot of reasons, his parents had the virus, he was in New York and wanted to go out, they had a Coaching changed the previous year. There were a lot of reasons for the LJs, so I don’t understand this one. But it’s above me, it’s complicated I guess. It is not for me to pass judgment.
“The NCAA, okay, they make everybody get the year back anyway. They’ve made all of these exceptions. We all know where it’s going. A time transfer next year is going. Why punish us someone? about 200 to 7 or 8. Not many people [denied]. St Johns accepted LJ’s transfer. So I don’t know why. St. Johns has been great. I want this to be clear. St John’s is not holding LJ back. “
The Ducks play at Seton Hall Friday night at 6 p.m. PT in Omaha. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1, and Figueroa will potentially be live online.
