Apart from that, there are some general tips that will help you through the whole game, not just specific enemies.
To dodge
It sounds simple, but dodging is the key to many of the battles Feynx faces. More than that, you can unlock an ability that makes your next attack after dodge even stronger, which can really turn the tide.
Face shield enemies
As you go along, you will come across enemies who protect themselves with shields. The best way to attack them is from above or below with divine powers. Another trick, however, is to use Apollo’s Arrow and try to aim their foot under their shields. It still does a lot of damage and it’s a sneaky way to get a hit.
Arrows of Apollo
Speaking of which, using Apollo’s Arrows slows down time, so you can aim more precisely without worrying about being pulled out. Use it to get the first hit at an enemy in a corner or to get a precision headshot when needed.
Increase your endurance
Much of your success in the game comes down to stamina, and for combat it is used for divine powers, so you’ll want to keep cleaning the vaults for it to be completed.
Upgrade your weapons
In the Hall of the Gods, you can upgrade your weapons so that they do more damage. As the game progresses, it is imperative that you keep improving your ax and sword. You upgrade the weapon type (ax) rather than any specific weapon type so don’t worry about switching weapons as you find some cooler ones.
You’ll spend a lot of time exploring the map in Immortals Fenyx Rising, and aside from just surviving it (that’s more of a job for Combat Tips), here’s how to get the most out of exploration.
Distant view
From each of the four statues on the map, you will need to spot to continue the scenario. While you’re here, be sure to use Far Sight to examine the world below. This will allow you to move the camera around and find all the chests, ambrosia, and all other secrets in the area.
Do not slip
Sometimes you may have to slide on ledges or platforms, but there is always the great temptation to use sliding from a high, fast moving point to move faster. However, that will skip a lot of crucial content. You’d better go on foot, as this will allow you to find secrets that you didn’t find while scouting, find a mount, or just encounter enemies that drop important shards.
Get a mount
Speaking of mounts: get one. If you want to follow the tips for avoiding hovering and fast travel, having a mount means you can travel faster without running out of ground content. There is a purple unicorn in the southern valley of Eternal Spring, which can be found early and has three stamina bars. However, it’s hard to find, so be prepared to search.
Slip on a mount
If you’re high, holding the mount button when you’re low enough will cause Fenyx to fall from the sky onto the mount. No real bonus here, it looks cool. Enjoy!
Swim fast
Fenyx will have to go into the water in certain sections, either to solve puzzles or to explore. Once you’ve unlocked the dashboard swim, be aware that it’s even faster if Fenyx is underwater.
Hit the chests early
Chests give you lightning, which gives you stamina. You’ll use stamina in combat, puzzles, and traveling through the open world, so it’s a very useful resource. It’s arguably more useful than HP, because at least you can adjust tough tactics or switch tactics if you keep losing health. With Stamina you have what you have, with no way to change except the hard way.
Take pictures of puzzle solutions
A little cheating here. While our Walkthrough and Vault guide is here to help you, there are a few puzzles that require you to remember some visual clues. If you take a photo of the solution, depending on which console you are using, you can quickly call up the image to verify it. The PS5 is best for this, but it can run on Xbox as well. On the Switch, you have to quit the game to check it out, but it can still be helpful.
Coffers
Specific Chest Types contain specific items inside, alongside the usual Adamantium Shards:
- Simple chests have 3 golden amber (used for potions upgrades)
- Epic chests contain armor and helms
- Guarded chests contain weapons
- Night Chests contain Midnight Shards

Along with generally exploring the open world, Fenyx has plenty to do with rock climbing, gliding, and platforming. Here, we’ll take a look at how to make sure Feynx can cross quickly and safely.
Use shadow
A classic platform ride this one. Every time Fenyx jumps, there is a shadow under them. Use this to make sure you never miss a platform.
Triple jump
While Fenyx can unlock a double jump skill, if you combine it with Ares’ wrath, which shoots you into the air, it can become a triple jump. This handy tip will ensure that even the most difficult to reach platforms can be climbed. You should do this in the middle (so jump, wrath, double jump), as Fenyx’s movements are less restricted with jumps.
Hold to jump
Whether you hold X or A, the longer you hold the jump button, the higher you jump. For some crucial jumps, that extra boost makes all the difference. Make sure to hold on for double jumps as well.
Phosphorus clone
We mention this as an important skill in the Hall Of Gods guide, but it’s worth repeating here. If you ever get stuck in chests (remember our Tartaros solution chests are there too), use Phosphor’s Clone to put extra weight on the pressure pads.
Keep it on screen
Telekenesis capture only works when an item is onscreen. If it’s handy but off-screen, Fenyx won’t catch it until you move the camera around, so keep that in mind.
Stay with the gadgets
Aside from the game’s final vault, which combines different ideas, each vault has a single gadget. It could be rolling a ball, shooting at targets, stacking boxes … whatever. The important thing is that it is the same. So, when the first puzzle shows you how it works, just remember that the more complex puzzles in this vault will use the same mechanics.
The Hall Of Gods is your central hub, unlocked after the Clashing Rocks prologue. As for the main story, you’ll have to come back here intermittently to help the coming God, but there’s so much more to it.
Aphrodite’s beauty chair
This allows you to change the appearance of Fenyx at any time. There is no limit to the frequency of changes and it costs nothing.
Styx River Cistern
This is where you can spend your Charon coins, either on divine powers or on regular skills. There is none that is a waste of money, but there are certainly more important than others. We recommend that you purchase the skills below first.

Zeus bench
This is where you can spend your Lightning to improve your stamina. The more safes you complete the more lightning you get, so check out our Tartaros safe solutions.
Athena’s Kylix
This is where you spend ambrosia to improve your health. Check out our Ambrosia locations to maximize Fenyx’s HP.
Hephaistos Forge
This is where you can upgrade your equipment. Arrows and Potions cost Blue and Yellow Shards, Armor and Helmets cost Blue and Purple Shards, while Bows, Swords and Axes cost Blue and Red Shards.
Cauldron of Circe
Here you can convert raw materials into potions or use golden amber to improve the potency of potions. Golden amber can be found in the chests.
Hermes Heroic Tasks Table
This is where you can find – and claim the rewards for – Heroic Tasks of Hermes, there are 36 in total, with 10 Combat Tasks, 8 Chests, 10 Explorations, and 8 Mythic Challenges. There’s a full breakdown in the Hermes Heroic Tasks board guide.
