COLLIER COUNTY, Fla .– NCH begins immunizing people 65 years of age and over Friday by appointment only.

The vaccination schedule has been completed for Friday and Monday, according to NCH officials. Friday’s 1,200 vaccine appointments were filled at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, and the high influx of traffic to NCH’s website resulted in service delays or many users being taken offline altogether.

The meetings will take place from Monday to Wednesday next week. All meeting slots will be between its Baker campus and North Naples, according to NCH.

NCH received 4,900 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on December 23. They immediately began to vaccinate healthcare workers with direct contact with patients.

In the initial phase of vaccine administration, the state required that 15% of the vaccine allowance received be given to pre-hospital workers, such as paramedics and paramedics, who are at high risk of developing COVID -19. Vaccine administration for this group began on December 31, 2020.

NCH will be giving vaccines to people with appointments on these days:

  • Friday January 8
  • Monday January 11
  • Tuesday January 12
  • Wednesday January 13

Appointments will be required to receive the vaccine. Walk-in visits will not be allowed and no co-payments or refundable fees will be charged.

Anyone with an appointment is requested to bring documents from the registration link and appointment confirmation, according to NCH. People with appointments must also bring their government ID, such as a driver’s license.

Agents and signs will be installed on both campuses to help guide people and give parking instructions, NCH said. People who have been vaccinated are urged to arrive as close as possible to their appointment time and to avoid showing up early. People with appointments will have to wait in their car until the time of their appointment to maintain social distance within the facility.

People will have to wait at the site for at least 15 minutes after vaccination for follow-up. NCH said vaccination is not recommended for those who have been treated for COVID-19 with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma and are asked to wait 90 days after treatment to be vaccinated.

NCH said they realize the dates will fill up quickly. The hospital said it will provide more opportunities in the future as it receives more vaccines.
