Our experiences can be used for other parts of the world where the AIDS epidemic is not yet over.
Against Discrimination, Rejection and Stigmatization of HIV
People living with HIV in the Netherlands are also stigmatized and rejected. Obsolete images and incorrect information cause misunderstandings. This is why the association considers that it is important to support the media and journalists to change this image. Just Aids2018 is the time when people living with HIV can talk and tell about their daily lives, what they meet and how they live in society. The HIV association has a diverse group of HIV-positive people who are available to the media.
In the freely accessible global village, the association is present as part of Positively Dutch (hall 5, stand 504, on the main stage). This booth welcomes conference visitors and the general public and provides information on the activities of the Dutch HIV community.
