Cees Engel of Fort Oranje receives no other judge, refusal refused

RIJSBERGEN – Cees Engel of Fort Oranje does not get another police judge to judge his case. Engel and his legal counsel were arrested in December 2017 while they wanted to camp in Rijsbergen. They were not allowed to come there, and a fine of 300 euros was imposed. In the subsequent trial, the two men filed a ransom claim because, in their opinion, the judge was not impartial. The fear of bias is not justified, according to Wednesday's decision of the riot chamber.

On 23 June, when the municipality of Zundert took over the management of the campsite, Cees Engel was banned. It would disrupt the public order at the campsite. His son Jan, Jeroen Pols, lawyer, Jimmy van de Beek and the wife of Cees were also not welcome at the campsite.

Later, the judge lifted the ban, but police and security did not allow him to pass through Fort Oranje. The municipality appealed a previous decision of another judge. It was then determined that with the resumption of the management role by the Municipality of Zundert, the owner Cees Engel has nothing to look for in Fort Oranje.

The police judge can now rule on the fine. When the judge makes a decision is not known. In a reaction, Cees Engel said that "it was in line with expectations" that the judge would not be blamed. "The municipality, the police and the judiciary have been working against me for years, but if necessary, we go to the European Court of Human Rights." Jeroen Pols was not available
