On Saturday morning and part of the afternoon, there was a farm fire erupting on the Kolholsterweg in Zijldijk. At around 14:00, the traffic light was given.
The fire was quickly escalated to a very large fire. The fire started in the barn, but jumped on the adjacent shed of the farmhouse. There were also some small fires in the nearby grain fields.
Firefighters were present with a cherry picker and submersible pumps to fight the fire as best as they could.
Smoke
Much smoke was released by the fire and it was also visible in the wider area. Firefighters advised local residents to keep the windows and doors closed while the smoke disturbed them.
Master of Traffic Light
At approximately 2:00 pm, the traffic light was given. Firefighters report that a number of vehicles will remain available for follow-up work. In the fire, three adjacent barns were lost. A fourth separate barn and a large part of the house have been spared.
Boer seeks a woman
According to different sources, it is the farm of Janko Elema. In 2014 he participated in the popular program Boer Zoekt Vrouw.
