BERKEL-ENSCHOT – The A65 towards Den Bosch was closed for hours on Tuesday after an accident with a truck at the Berkel-Enschot exit. At De Baars junction, the vehicle fired in the early afternoon after an eruption through the central reservation and came upside down. Around midnight, the road was open again.
No other traffic was involved in the accident. The behavior of the truck driver is not known.
On the road, there was a lot of damage and it was necessary to clean it. Some 500 liters of diesel landed on the road and in the central reserve. "It's a lot and it can only be cleaned up when the truck is gone, which will take some time because the truck has to be lifted," said a spokesman for the Rijkswaterstaat.
The security barrier was also to be repaired. It was damaged over a distance of fifty meters.
Detours
Due to the closure, motorists had to make a detour via Den Bosch via Eindhoven following the A58 and the A2. On the A65 direction Tilburg was an open lane. However, traffic on the south side of Tilburg on the A58 had to take into account delays.
