The arrival of Sinterklaas is not without noise this year. Next week, the good saint will set foot in our country. And with that, the discussion on the appearance of Zwarte Piet is also on the rise. Tuesday, a lawsuit will be filed in the court of Haarlem to prohibit the "initiators of a racist national entrance" according to the initiators. Until now, four action groups have announced that they will demonstrate in Zaanstad, where the Saint arrives.

The Majority Perspective Foundation contests, among others, the NTR, which broadcasts the television program, and Mayor Jan Hamming of Zaanstad, where entry is next week, in the civil court. The Media Authority, the state, Kijkwijzer and the media company Vinke Vision were also summoned.

Of the four action groups reported in Zaanstad, there are two for and two anti-Black Pete, said a spokesman for the municipality. If you wish to demonstrate, you must inform the municipality at least 72 hours in advance. Strict rules apply when entering. For example, the area where the saint arrives is encircled by fences and spectators must first pass a jacket and bag check through the entrance gates. Action groups are assigned places far apart from each other. This is to prevent confrontation.

In addition, the group Kick Out Action Zwarte Piet (KOZP) announced actions in at least eighteen places at the local entrance of the saint. These include The Hague, Rotterdam, Dokkum, Maassluis, Apeldoorn, Den Helder, Weesp and Willemstad (Curacao). The municipality of The Hague has already indicated that a demonstration in the center of the center was not allowed, but that this could be done in another place yet to be determined.

The NTR had to appeal to the municipalities for national entry. No candidate has yet registered at the beginning of March. Subsequently, the broadcaster was overwhelmed by the interested parties. The first dissemination of information Sinterklaas, which also had a lot to do in recent years, was due to the color of the stone, began Monday. The broadcaster has already indicated previously that this edition of soot wadding could be seen.

Last year, Dokkum had been the scene of the national entrance. Opponents of Zwarte Piet were then arrested on the A7 highway at a roadblock. On Friday, the court imposed on the perpetrators of the maximum penalty of 240 hours the so-called "blocking of Frisians".
