Child care organizations want to improve their status on the road

The Professional Association for Child Care and the Parent Care Association (Boink) want the improved version of the relay to be accepted on the road as quickly as possible. This is in a letter, in the hands of RTL Nieuws, who was sent Wednesday to Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen (Infrastructure, VVD).

After the tragic accident at Oss, in which four young children died as a result of a train fire, Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen decided to ban the electric wagon. In particular, she did not find the Stint's brake sufficiently secure and instructed the TNO Research Institute to conduct research on vehicle safety. This report is expected at the end of this year.

An earlier reconstruction of RTL Nieuws showed that Van Nieuwenhuizen, in his decision, had received incorrect information from the Inspectorate of the Environment and Transport Inspectorate.

Cost of the increase

For child care organizations, this takes much too much time, according to the letter. There are about 3,500 stopping points on the side. As an alternative, daycares and host hosts use other means of transportation, such as vans and taxis, which results in a considerable increase in costs. A survey of members of the Professional Association for Child Welfare showed that four of the five organizations faced increased costs after Stint was banned. This year, they can take care of themselves, but in 2019, they must pass it on to their parents.

On RTL Nieuws' show on Tuesday night, experts from the University of Twente and the Eindhoven University of Technology said that an improved version protocol could be launched within three weeks. Last Monday, the stint manufacturer announced that because of the ban, he had filed for bankruptcy of his company Stintum.
