The old Magista building from Oosteinde to Roden is on fire. Firefighters were removed with large equipment to fight the fire. It's a blazing fire.
Fire accompanies a considerable development of smoke. The flames are now out of the roof.
Firefighters have no indication that there were people in the building vacant by the time the fire broke out. However, caravans have been stored.
The fire was discovered around half past six on the top floor of the building, which includes an office and a shed. Due to the size of the fire, according to Esther Klap of Brandweer Drenthe, there is a special need for water to fight the fire.
Five of the thirty cars that are ready for Drenthe have been deployed. De Roden, Norg, Leek, Peize, Eelde, Veenhuizen and Smilde help firefighters.
Magista, specializing in archive and warehouse equipment, went bankrupt in 2007. The building was in the picture for expansion for the newly opened health center on the Former Cordreinrein in Roden.
