The positive news also applies to eleven other students who obtained a pass for a social reading retrieval test last week. Earlier Friday, it was already known that some students did not have to pass exams, but it still lacked accurate numbers at that time

. The Minister of Education, Ingrid van Engelshoven, writes in a letter to the House of Representatives. She still has a battle, because the board of examiners has yet to formally establish that the candidates for the exam in question are still successful. It will be extra summoned on July 18th. For many other students, they have to do fewer recovery tests than expected.

The final exams of 354 students of VMBO Maastricht were declared invalid last month, because the school did not have things in order with regard to the exams. They are not caught in the center. For twenty students, it is still true that they have definitely dropped. Initially, it seemed like all the other candidates had to reiterate courses after the summer.

An external committee did additional research on student and subject work over the past week. This has shown that some students meet the final standards. It was not clear before because the school administration was not in order. Overall, this gives a "slightly more positive" image, according to Van Engelshoven

. For 41 students, the work seems to be done with that. Apart from the twenty candidates who have already failed, the rest will have to go to work next month. The other recovery tests should be done between August 20th and 24th. The results will follow on August 31, after which a second rehearsal session will be held in October.
