An attorney from Eindhoven is suspended for a week because he has been arrested three times in the last year while he was still on probation for a previous disciplinary conviction. The disciplinary board of Den Bosch also imposed on Tuesday a new conditional suspension of twelve weeks in case the lawyer would be wrong again in the next two years.
Police arrested the lawyer in April for assaulting and threatening his ex-mistress, his wife's sister. At the time, he was detained more than ten days
In June, the lawyer had been arrested twice more because the quarrels with his wife had escalated. She also accuses her of threats and abuses.
The lawyer acknowledges, according to the verdict, that he flew away, but points out that the incidents took place in the private sphere and that his in-laws tried to discredit him. The disciplinary board finds that the lawyer has tarnished trust in the profession.
