A man who, during a robbery at a cafe, claimed to be a victim, was sentenced to four years in prison.
The man and two other people committed the robbery of Haarlem. . The two masked and underage perpetrators entered the store in May 2011 and threatened the owner with fake weapons. The suspect was already in the store and claimed to be a customer, who would have been forced to search for grass and money.
The man always said that he was innocent, but according to the Amsterdam court, he was well and truly involved and educated the co-perpetrators then aged 16 and 17 and provided them with arms. Claiming to be a victim, he would have wanted to put the blame on the boys.
