The lion cub found in a meadow last month is doing well. That's what the Lions Foundation says, where the animal is housed.

The kid, who was renamed Remy, was transferred Wednesday in a private residence. Last year, the animal was in quarantine, but the necessary period is now over. In the meantime, he has also received his vaccinations.

Stubborn and playful

According to the foundation, Rémy grew up "like a cabbage" and is "very obstinate and playful". On the Facebook movie that the foundation has placed, you can see that the kid is playing. However, it will take some time before seeing the animal on the outside: "Remy must get used to his new environment after the move, which may take a few more weeks."

This is not yet clear. In the long term, the lion goes to the foundation. The foundation has already brought several lions in Africa. This year, there will remain three. "This lion will certainly be considered in the future," said the foundation about Remy. Lions stay in Africa in an area where they are kept and brought.

Remy was found a few weeks ago in a meadow in Tienhoven, Utrecht, where a passerby found the animal in a dog shed.
