In a Limburg bio-fermentation plant, justice seized 14 million euros of assets and accounts of administrators allegedly guilty of manure fraud. Since 2013, three times more manure and waste have been processed than the 34,000 tonnes allowed.
The Crown considers that frauds have also been committed with subsidies
Fraud
According to the Crown, waste is reduced to manure. False transport documents were also used. In addition, millions would have been fraudulent with subsidies to generate sustainable energy.
The companies and bosses involved would have earned at least 14 million euros. The Public Prosecution Service has stopped the bio-fermentation plant and seized it to guarantee any future claim.
Manure of Animal Origin
Manure can be decomposed in a bio-fermentation facility. In this process (bio) gases are released with which renewable energy can be generated.
If the process proceeds according to the rules, the remains of residual material as manure can be used in agriculture and horticulture.
