LEIDEN – A pupil from mboRijnland in Leiden is infected with tuberculosis. This is confirmed by a school spokesperson from media partner Omroep West. This is a student of the site Bètaplein
The classmates of the student and teachers who had to deal directly with the student underwent a skin test Tuesday. Tuberculosis infection can be detected by this so-called Mantouxprik
According to the spokesperson, the infected pupil is infected with the infectious (open) form of tuberculosis. There is also a non-contagious form. The infectious TB disease is caused by a bacterium of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex. The bacteria can cause severe inflammation throughout the body. The disease can be fatal if it is not treated or if it is not treated properly.
It is unclear how is the student going.
For reasons of confidentiality, school does not mean how things are with the student. It is also unknown whether it is a boy or a girl and in which class the student is sitting.
