The Heliomare Health Organizations, the Hersenletsel.nl Patient Association and PGOsupport work together to improve the follow-up of people with non-congenital brain injury (NAH). The collaboration is aimed primarily at people with brain injuries in the Midden-Kennemerland area, including Heliomare clients who have undergone a rehabilitation program. The project focuses primarily on the use of experiential expertise and online health.
The parties referred to it in a joint message of 22 October. The purpose of the collaboration is to organize follow-up programs for people with NAH so that the effect is sustainable and meets the needs of the client. It could be an organization different from existing care or online health, in the form of an application or a digital platform. PGOsupport, with customers who use applications, wants to be user-friendly and accessible to people with disabilities or less digital skills.
Assistance
In the Netherlands, about 650,000 people have NAH, often after a stroke or stroke. About 550 people with NAH are treated every year at Heliomare. Most patients will not notice the consequences of brain injury after a while at home. One wonders if support is needed to learn to cope with the consequences. Finding the right support takes a lot of time and energy and often leads to unnecessary health costs. Good monitoring must prevent this.
