Request for asylum Armenian children must again

The asylum application of two children from Amersfoort who risk being deported to Armenia needs to be reassessed. The court did not take into account the conditions of return, judges the administrative judge Thursday. State Secretary Mark Harbers (VVD) incorrectly failed to include these conditions in the assessment of the asylum application.

Lily (12) and Howick (13) were born in Russia, grew up in the Netherlands and were threatened last summer. to be deported to Armenia. Their parents were born there, so the children also have Armenian nationality. The mother was evicted last year after years of litigation, the children stay with a family of friends. In May of this year, a judge ruled that children could still be deported.

Reunification

The Child Protection Council has already declared difficult conditions to leave them about, among other things , reunification with the mother, the organization of a school and psychological help. The children's lawyer earlier NRC said that because of the mother's psychological problems, she can not take care of them directly. "There must be good help for the family in Armenia."

The judge now finds that it is the task of the Dutch government to ensure that this is well organized. The children want to be reunited with their mother, but fear that they will suffer many damage following a departure to Armenia if these conditions are not met. Therefore, one must first better investigate under what circumstances the children end, according to the judge.

In six weeks, the Secretary of State must make a new decision.
