During Love Week (February 11-16, 2019), Lang Leve receives the Love Award for the fourth time. With this award, Soa Aids Nederland and Rutgers put schools in the limelight and excel in teaching and politics about relationships and sexuality, sexual diversity, wishes and boundaries. That brings back Soa Aids Nederland.

The focus for sex education can be improved

The Education Inspection Report shows that in many schools and in all sectors of the world. education, attention is given to sexuality. Lessons in schools are too limited in practice and are often not part of a lifelong learning curve. In addition, little attention is paid to sexual resilience and respect for diversity. According to the inspection, the quality of sexual and relational education in schools could be better.

With Liefde's Lang Leve Award, Soa Aids Nederland and Rutgers want to stimulate, appreciate and publicize the quality of sexual and relational education in schools. Prizes are awarded for three types of schools: secondary education, practical training and MBO. Nominated schools not only have a chance to win prizes, but are also widely promoted as inspiring examples for other schools.

Selection Criteria and Enrollment

For the Prize, schools are eligible in areas where sexual and relational education, sexual resilience and sexual diversity are an ongoing part of the curriculum. The policy on the pillars of school health, education, signage and the environment are also taken into account. The Lang Leve Award from Liefde 2019 will be presented to the three winning schools of Love Week (February 11 to 16, 2019). Schools that have applied in previous years may also compete for the 2019 prize.

Week of Love

From February 11 to 15, 2019, schools will have the opportunity to familiarize with the theme of relationships and sexuality. With Love Week, Soa Aids Netherlands and Rutgers want to inspire secondary schools, practical training and MBO in an affordable way to give extra attention to the lesson. By learning how students respond to lessons themselves, teachers can see how fun and fun it is to have sex and relationships with them.
