No scientific research has been done on this subject. A special application has been developed for this: the Greentracker. When people download the Greentracker, the GPS in the mobile automatically tracks the journey on the Wadden Sea.
Observations
The tourist can then transmit special observations via the application. Then the route is displayed and the photos are saved. For the tourist, it's nice to relive the trip. For research, it can give important ideas behind recreational grounds on mudflats.
The goal is to get at least 150 tracks in 2018. It must give a varied picture. Consider, for example, private vessels, commercial shipping and, most importantly, passengers who go by boat. Professional shipping has since been approached. However, researchers are still looking for more owners of private boats and passengers.
