The official report still appears: Van Nieuwenhuizen under fire

[ad_1]

On Monday, October 1, at the end of the day, Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen suddenly announced the ban on the relay. The minister received a "presentation" this morning to her department. There is "doubt" about the relay, says the minister. There may be "potential security risks". It relies on a "working hypothesis" of a "quick review" of the Dutch Institute of Forensic Science (NFI) and on the findings of its own inspection, inspection of the Human Environment and Transport (ILT).

Proof of Power

The department wants to show determination and not run the risk of another accident with a relay. After the Oss accident, the department quickly became aware of the risks involved with the special moped and failed to supervise this "traffic product", which carries about 200,000 children every day to and from daycares.

To support its far-reaching decision, the ILT is seeking additional "evidence". For example, on September 20, the Amsterdam police received a report stating "several incidents", two with batteries and one in which the relay "can only be stopped by turning the key of contact". The police made this "official report", as it is officially called, in the "fact sheet" of the inspection.

The minister does not say that on October 1, her own TAL already knew that the person who reported, could not agree with this statement. If the ILT hears of the report on Saturday morning, Sept. 29 – via an official report from the East Brabant police – the ILT will fail its passage. That's why ILT called that day Stint's boss, Edwin Renzen, for an interview. it can not wait, it's too important. "

Emotional Spur

Renzen is surprised. He does not know this incident and does not recognize himself in the summary of the ILT. He is in contact with the early childhood management. The director of this case – and the employee who called the police in an emotional tumult – are indignant. They would like to cooperate with the police relay investigation. They also want to give their relays for research. But they have a lot of trouble with the approach of the inspection; it is pre-sorted according to a conclusion: the relay must be removed from the road.

The employee and the director will inform the ILT inspector and his or her superior on Sunday that the statement contained in a "statement of findings" must be: withdrawn or that a new declaration must be included. The Inspectorate suspects Renzen of putting pressure on the director and the employee to adjust their statement. The director and employees rightly believe that ILT has a tunnel vision and goes beyond borders. Senior ministry officials learned Sunday, September 30 that the official report was inaccurate and that it could not be used.

Van Nieuwenhuizen says nothing about it if she announces her decision on October 1 st. At the ministry, there is some relief that it has been possible to ban the relay, sources said. From the "decision", the decision that removes the relay from the road, it turns out that behind the scenes, the ministry itself smelled bad. The decision was not based on "additional findings" such as the official report.

Alarm Rings

Alarm tones also sounded in the public prosecutor's office. The state attorney sent the documents to the court for summary proceedings and designated him as a relevant fact for the defense. But when questioned by the judge, the state attorney chooses eggs for his money. Even without the "PV Amsterdam", the minister would have removed the relay from the road, she told the judge on October 18.

That's not right when RTL News reconstructs the exact state of things, based on confidential documents and conversations with a variety of sources. At the end of last week, we asked the department for formal comments: where did this mysterious "additional explanation" go? The ministry announced Saturday evening, October 27, that the LTI had informed the police to find out if there was a new explanation about the nursery. On this basis, the ministry states, "We do not know any additional explanation".

During a reconstruction, RTL Nieuws explains Monday how the Ministry and the Inspection knew, before the suspension, that the official report had been criticized. And that it was amazing that no one knew where had gone the extra explanation. "It sounds like food for the national criminal investigation." This suggestion of the police in East Brabant and the public ministry is in the wrong heart. They work with the man and the power on an investigation into an accident that causes a lot of emotions. Both have no meaning in political games, being drawn into a question of integrity.

Still registered

In recent days, the East Brabant police and the public prosecutor have made an accurate inventory. What's going on? There is an additional explanation. There is a second official report. TIL was contacted on Monday, October 1, prior to the suspension, with the announcement of the statement. And recorded in a minutes.

This second report is not suitable for anyone. The inspection does not do it. The minister does not do it. The country's lawyer does not do it. The Inspectorate therefore made sure that the minutes were not requested. So, it seemed like it did not exist.

After the public prosecutor opened the case at RTL News, the additional official report was still required by the LTI. A document that did not exist suddenly exists. Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen will have a lot of difficulties during the parliamentary debate.
