The victims of the explosion in Bergen op Zoom, seriously injured, are out of danger

One of the victims is a student of Rijks. He is in his mavo exam year. He was going to school by bike and overtook the transformer at the time of the explosion. The witnesses saw how he literally blew his bike. According to Reijpert, the boy has mainly burns on his face and hands. "But he is happy outside the danger of life."

In college, they are deeply shocked, says Reijpert. There is help and advice for students and teachers. When the boy did not show up at school, the management called the parents to ask where their son had stayed. So they quickly discovered that he was one of the victims of the blast. To express their support, the students wrote cards. Tuesday afternoon, Reijpert himself goes to the hospital in Rotterdam.

"A terrible workplace accident"
The three employees of Enexis are also out of danger . They were informed of a malfunction Monday morning. When they arrived at the transformer, they saw smoke coming out from under the door, after which they took a little distance. According to a spokeswoman for Enexis, the explosion followed about twenty seconds later.

In Enexis, the fear is good. "It's a terrible work accident." The employees have burns, we also left a broken shoulder to the shot. At present, the Labor Inspectorate is conducting research on problems occurring in the transformer.
