The CDA and the VVD pose parliamentary questions about the stoppage of an article in the Saxion magazine. The unpublished interview with Shayno Numansen (24) was about a documentary about the Aramaic genocide in Turkey that she realized.
According to Deurningse Shayno, Saxion reportedly said that the subject was too sensitive in the Turkish community. Saxion announced on its own website that the publication was not stopped by the school.
Parliamentary questions
Dutch MP Pieter Omtzigt of the CDA asks the Minister of Education, Culture and Science, Ingrid van Engelshoven, if she wants to appeal to Saxion for the decision not to not publish this article. Deputy to the Minister to guarantee academic freedom and freedom of expression.

Bizarre! And embarrassing! @Saxion Students must be stimulated at school and not censored!
This university of applied sciences needs a lesson in freedom of expression. Support to Shayno Numansen @telegraaf . And parliamentary questions along the way! pic.twitter.com/7BjKewK4cQ– Judith Tielen (@JudithTielenVVD) July 7, 2018
Opinion
Other politicians also expressed their views on the situation . For example, Annabel Nanninga Group Chair of Forum for Democracy in Amsterdam and GroenLink MP Zihni Özdil said they did not agree with the decision not to publish this article.
Shocking. Really shocking. If the @ NPO1 is worth it for the nose: buy and distribute! – Saxion keeps track of the Aramaic documentary genocide at https://t.co/NWCwIyekjA via @telegraaf

"The publication could eventually lead to including (violent) reactions to social media, " @Saxion ?
A university of applied sciences / university should listen to the freedom of expression of students in such situations and provide the necessary support. https://t.co/sMMUrvnRmF

Documentary
Shayno studied media, information and communication at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Enschede. The student herself is of Aramaic origin and therefore very interested in the history of Aramaic Christians.
So she decided to make a documentary about the Aramaic genocide for her education and she plunged into the history of the Arameans.
