Wasps to come: it's like that you're getting ready

Wasps on the move: this is how you prepare yourself

This week it was announced that we could expect more wasps than in the last few years. Not so beautiful of course. Because more wasps does not just mean that there are more of these ropes to work on your nerves. It also means a greater chance of stinging, as they become cranky due to food shortages (yes, wasps also become haunting).

Do you also have nervousness when these animals are already in the neighborhood? Then read these tips from www.digibach.nl on how you can arm and treat stitches. Because a prepared person …

Preventing Being Stung

Secretly, most people know it, but we repeat it once: if an idiot panic circulates when there has a wasp in your neighborhood is usually counterproductive. This only makes their anger worse.

Of course, it is not so easy to stay still when there is such a black and yellow killing machine buzzing around you. So take it a little earlier, and reduce the chance that the wasps will approach you:

  • Wasps love sweet, so do not use too much sweet scents or deodorants.
  • As said: wasps become after a while of food shortage. Make sure that the place where you are sitting is not too attractive by exposing all kinds of soft discoveries. Plus, protein-rich food attracts wasps!
  • No fierce clothing: it looks too much like flowers and so attracts wasps.

Grandma's kitchen utensil: burn coffee powder in a small saucer. The smells are not delicious, but these wasps also think that way.

Clove oil on your clothes also keeps the wasps away. You can also put a few cloves in one half of orange. Copper objects in your environment also work: wasps do not support the smell of copper!

One last thing that wasps do not support:

  • Brilliance (for example hanging a mobile with sparkling stones)
  • Ammonia (a bowl with water and ammonia made wonders)
  • Incense (if you are of course served)

If you are stuck

What should you do then: when you go next to a bee or a stuck wasp , see if the sting is still there.

Remove it first, then suck the poison out of the wound. This is so that you prevent swelling.

Put your mouth around the place of the sting, pull vigorously, then spit the poison. Do it several times to remove as much poison as possible.

If you get stung in your mouth or throat (for example, when a wasp has been drunk in your drink, you drink it), you tell the doctor.

The same thing applies when someone is sensitive to wasp stings.

To reduce swelling and pain, you can use lavender or basil. Bruised plantain leaves attract toxins from the wound. Lavender heals and helps against inflammation.

Application: Rub the fresh grass between the fingers and mix it with a little aloe vera gel (just dissolve in a little water if you do not have it). have not). Use the aloe vera gel that is in the leaf. Lubricate the mixture on the place of the bite or stitch.
