The Dungeons & Dragons team has announced that the next iteration of the tabletop fantasy RPG will debut in 2024.
Revealed during the D&D 2021 celebration, the next iteration of Dungeons & Dragons – though not officially named D&D 6th – will launch with new versions of the core rulebooks to coincide with D&D 50th anniversary. “Earlier this year, we started working on the next evolution of Dungeons & Dragons,” said Ray Winninger, executive producer of D&D during the “Future of D&D” panel, where they also presented new textbooks focused on Classic and brand-new game settings (similar to this year’s Ravenloft’s Van Richten Guide or 2019’s Ebberon: Rising from the Last War) coming in 2022 and 23.
