CLEARWATER, Fla .– The City of Clearwater invites the public to a community forum to meet the panel of finalists of city directors selected by Clearwater City Council.

The community is invited to attend the forum on Wednesday September 1 at Ruth Eckerd Hall, located at 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater. The forum will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., to meet the following candidates:

  • Milton Dohoney, Jr. – Former deputy general manager of Phoenix, Az.
  • Charles Duggan, Jr. – City Manager of Redlands, California.
  • Jon Jennings – City Manager of Portland, Maine
  • Keith Moffett – County Manager for Macon-Bibb County, Georgia.

The community forum will follow a day of individual candidate interviews conducted by the mayor and city council, and a meeting with the city administration.

On Thursday, September 2, City Council will then interview candidates starting at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall in the Clearwater Main Library at 100 N. Osceola Ave. These interviews will not be televised or broadcast online, but will be open to the public.

After the morning interviews, the council will hold a meeting at 1 p.m. to discuss the candidates, which will be open to the public, televised on C-View TV and streamed online and on city social media.

City council launched a nationwide search for a new city manager this summer following the announcement of the retirement of City Manager Bill Horne, who has led the city for more than 20 years. Mr Horne tragically passed away on August 14, with city council appointing interim city manager Micah Maxwell until a city manager selection was made.
