The Santa Clara City Police Department reminds you that there will be no parking permitted along the 52sd Parade route Santa Clara Parade of Champions and Saturday October 9, 2021.

The parade route is approximately 0.74 mile and will begin at Monroe Street in Market Street. It will move north along Monroe Street, turn right onto Benton Street, and end at the corner of Benton Street and Alviso Street.

Earlier this week, the public works department placed temporary signage on streets affected by the parade route to alert people to the ongoing event’s festivities and corresponding parking restrictions. Vehicles that are parked in designated “No Parking” areas at any time on Saturday October 9 are subject to a ticket and will be towed.

Jackson Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition, the following streets will be closed to automobile traffic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • Market Street, between Madison Street and Washington Street
  • Washington Street, between Market Street and Lafayette Street
  • Monroe Street, between Rip Miller Way and Market Street

Between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., resident access will be restricted within the parade footprint at Madison Street and Bellomy Street, Market Street and Lafayette Street, and Bellomy Street and Lafayette Street; proof of residence will be required

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic

  • Monroe Street, between Market Street and Benton Street
  • Benton Street, between Monroe Street and Sherman Street
  • Alviso Street, between Fremont Street and Franklin Street
  • The Alameda, between Fremont Street and Franklin Street
  • Franklin Street, between Sherman Street and the Alameda

On-street parking is very limited – plan accordingly! Residents and company employees will not be able to enter or exit the event footprint between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Public parking is readily available, as is street parking outside the parade route. Do not block walkways, fire hydrants or crosswalks in residential areas and dispose of your personal waste. Additionally, the University of Santa Clara offers free parking until 9 p.m. in its garage at 1063 Alviso Street, off Benton Street.

All roads will be reopened at 6 p.m.
