The Wilmette Fire Department invites the community to learn more about firefighting equipment and practices at its annual open house from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 9.
The open house is scheduled each year as part of Fire Prevention Week, which commemorates the Great Chicago Fire that began in October 1871. The Plaza del Lago fall fashion show is scheduled for Thursday, October 7
Shops and stores in Plaza del Lago will showcase their wares at a fashion show and fall lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, at the Plaza Convito café.
