Elvis Costello revealed that he is struggling with a very aggressive form of cancer and has canceled his European tour.
The London-born musician, whose real name is Declan Patrick MacManus, was advised to rest by his doctor. For cancer, writes the Daily Mail.
The 63-year-old man issued a statement saying that while he was back on tour he needed rest: "The mind was more than eager but I must now accept I'm going to have to reluctantly cancel all the remaining commitments of this tour.
The statement said, "Six weeks ago, my specialist called me to say," You should start to play Lotto. "
" He had rarely, if ever, seen a cancerous malignancy as small but very aggressive that could be overcome by a single surgery
"I was delighted and relieved that our Europeans summer tour could go from the front.
"Post – surgical guidelines for such surgery recommend a recovery from three weeks to four weeks depending on whether you are returning to a clerical job or an occupation which involved physical work o u a trip
"It was impossible to judge how this opinion would fit with the requirements imposed on a traveling musician, who played 90-minute evenings at two o'clock and up, but by the time we reached Edinburgh Playhouse, I was almost fooled into thinking that normal service had resumed.
I have to thank our friends who attended the show last night in Amsterdam and those of Antwerp, Glynde and Newcastle City Hall for supporting me. The mind has been more than eager, but I must now accept that it will take more time than I would have liked for me to regain all my strength. Therefore, I must reluctantly cancel all the remaining commitments of this tour.

Costello has added that he had a new record set for the end of the year while he urged other men to consult a doctor if they were experiencing disturbing symptoms.
"For you to leave with more optimistic news, The Imposters and myself – along with many of our other friends – have made a magnificent new record of which we are really proud. It will be published in October, I believe. We will come back at the earliest opportunity to play this music and your favorite songs that still make sense to all of us.
