Prince Louis was baptized last Monday at an intimate ceremony attended by Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and, of course, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge . The reason why earrings are so expensive, is that each pearl is adorned with a tiny diamond sitting on top. Oh, and everything is surrounded by 18-carat yellow gold. Strangely enough, Goad revealed that the inspiration behind the sleek design was "clusters of young cauliflower flower stalks on the market."
Pearl jewelry is both extremely popular and underrated. With connotations for both wisdom and wealth, gems have quickly become a staple in the upper class jewelry boxes and are regularly worn by women who want to exude elegance.
According to the International Gem Society, white pearls have a connection with innocence and purity, making them perfect for an event such as the baptism of a child. Asian cultures also believe that pearls are a symbol of divinity and greater power through the smooth, circular outer shape of the gem.
