15 years ago, Mel (Madeleine Sami) and Jen (Jackie van Beek) discovered that they were two-strokes by the same man. Bitter and cynical, they quickly became friends and formed The Breaker Upperers, a small business that broke couples for money.
Now they are in their late thirties and business is booming. They are a platonic and co-dependent couple who keep their cynicism alive by not emotionally engaging with anyone else. But when they meet an old victim, Mel develops a conscience and their friendship is really put to the test.
