Ekeler pushed into the end zone for a go-ahead score
The Chargers could have knelt down and attempted a winning shot on the field in the dying seconds against the Browns. Instead, they decided to pass the ball, and the Browns, knowing a short field should be automatic, pushed Austin Ekeler into the end zone to save some time for a potentially winning practice. It was the right choice, but lagging behind, 47-42, with 1:26 to go, Cleveland has failed in one of the best games of the NFL season so far.
Kareem Hunt slips away for unlikely TD
By the time Kareem Hunt took over at the 14-yard line, he had a 4% scoring chance, for Next Generation Statistics. He still found the end zone to put the Browns back in the lead.
The Giants drafted Toney 20th overall last April for being a dynamic offensive weapon, and after barely contributing in the first three games, he’s starting to assert himself. After collecting six receptions for 78 yards in Week 4 against the Saints, Toney was even better against the Cowboys, amassing 160 yards on eight catches. Here is his latest impressive capture:
Kellen Moore totally confuses Giants D for TD
Kellen Moore is the architect of the Cowboys’ top offense, and he made up a great play decision on the 2nd and the goal midway through the third quarter. Dak Prescott faked the sweep jet transfer to Tony Pollard running left, then faked a throw to Ezekiel Elliott going right, then scanned midfield and FINALLY turned right to hit a wide open Elliott on a swing pass for the four-yard scoring. I imagine Moore on the sidelines celebrating the same way Elliott did as he approached the end zone.
Fullback shows off his jumps
Full-backs aren’t supposed to hamper defenders, but Kyle Juszczyk is no ordinary full-back. Instead of attempting to crush a defender early in the third quarter, he opted for the aerial approach to pick up a few more yards.
Rondale Moore kind of keeps her feet within limits
DeAndre Hopkins is getting the most defensive attention among Arizona wide receivers, but second-round rookie Rondale Moore has made incredible plays for the Cardinals so far this season. He was incredibly successful in getting both feet inside the limits of that 26-yard reception.
Coach Matt Nagy announced earlier this week that Justin Fields, the 11th pick in this year’s draft, will be the starter going forward. On Sunday, he threw his first career touchdown pass, putting the ball through a narrow window to Jesper Horsted for the two-yard score against the Raiders.
Justin Herbert loves targeting Mike Williams on the field, and the two reconnected early in the second quarter against the Browns on Sunday. Williams simply passed everyone and Herbert hit him in stride down the middle for 72 yards.
Crosby finally hits an FG!
Twenty-seven. That’s the number of field goals veteran Mason Crosby had scored in a row as he lined up for another with about two minutes left against the Bengals on Sunday. But then his 36-yarder went left and he also missed his next two, both of which would have won the Packers game. The team didn’t shy away from Crosby, however, sending him off for a 49-yard attempt with less than two minutes left in overtime. And on his seventh try of the game, Crosby’s kick went through the uprights to carry Green Bay to their fourth win of the season.
The Vikings convert to the winning basket at the end of the allotted time
Greg Joseph at 54 meters! The Vikings kicker hit the winning basket at the end of time to avoid a huge upset for the Lions.
Teddy Bridgewater and the Broncos had a tough day in “Steel City” but things opened up a bit for them in the fourth quarter. “Teddy Two Gloves” found Sutton scurrying around the sideline for six to bring the Broncos within striking distance.
Joe Mixon takes out the Packers on their way to score
The Bengals give the Packers a game! Mixon dropped a defender to his knees with that juke en route to a touchdown.
Patriots tie Texans late in Houston!
It looked like the Patriots were on the verge of being crushed by the Texans this week, but Mac Jones and Co. made a comeback. Led 22-9, New England scored 13 unanswered points to tie the game halfway through the fourth quarter.
Reddick failed to register a sack for the all-season opener last week against the Cowboys, but he made up for it this week. The star passing thrower has recorded sacks in back-to-back games! The Eagles’ offensive line is in real trouble.
Big Ben is dating Chase Claypool for six
Roethlisberger is having a great day and it looks like he’s going to bring the Steelers back to the winning column. Check out that throw at Claypool that resulted in a touchdown. He identified the weak point in the area between the safeties and took the throw-in.
Ja’Marr Chase Crazy Capture
Chase had some big highlights this afternoon, but it was a pretty wild game. After bouncing the ball off a slanting road, the rookie kept his eyes on her and brought back what would have been a drop. He’s going to be a special player.
The Flea Fleas of the Texans!
What’s going on in Houston today ?! Davis Mills looked incredible and he threw his third touchdown of the game on that flea flicker. Perfect execution.
Chase has been amazing in his first four regular season games in the NFL. He caught four touchdowns in four weeks and recorded another long scoreline against the Packers on Sunday. It’s a home run threat that’s just going to get better.
Jameis Winston Hail Mary!
Winston is one of the best deep pitchers in the NFL, and he couldn’t have put this Hail Mary in a better place. Thanks to Marquez Callaway for accepting this as well.
With Dalvin Cook for the Vikings, Alexander Mattison entered. He’s actually a bit underrated and would have made a fantastic good start this week. He recorded 45 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards in the game to go with that touchdown in the first half.
The Buccaneers got off to a slow start on Sunday, but they’re riding now. Antonio Brown caught two touchdowns in the second quarter to climb to double digits. This offense is back on the same page after a below average performance in New England.
It looked like the Patriots were about to take the lead over the Texans, but Harris missed possession just before crossing the goal line! Houston recovered, but man, check out how close that game was.
Derrick Henry trucks his own rear en route to TD
Henry recorded a career No. 60 touchdown in the second quarter against the Jaguars and had to hit his own fullback to do so! Check out the second angle of this touchdown:
Davis Mills launches his second TD of the first half
The Patriots were probably one of the most popular survivor pool picks this week, but they’re down early! Davis Mills threw two touchdowns in the first half, including this incredible catch-and-run from Chris Moore.
Sam Darnold had a great start to his Panthers career, but he’s going to have to show he can maintain a certain level of success. He had a bad shot in the first quarter against the Eagles, which Slay picked to give Philly a great field position.
We have had good Jameis and bad Jameis so far this Sunday. On the Saints’ first possession, he threw a bad interception. On the Saints’ second possession, Winston hit Deonte Harris for a 72-yard touchdown. Find out how far Winston threw this ball:
I heard a rumor that Ben Roethlisberger had run aground and could no longer throw depth. He looked pretty good in the Steelers’ first practice against the Broncos.
Scoop and score of the Titans
The NFL world is wondering how the Titans will bounce back from their embarrassing loss to the Jets last week. They didn’t wait long to score, as star safety Kevin Byard managed a scoop and a three-game score in the game. Thanks to rookie Elijah Molden for laying the wood.
Rain expected for Bills-Chiefs at KC
The weather landscape looks to be pretty cool for Week 5, with little to affect in the day’s games … but that’s not the case for the AFC Championship game rematch between the Chiefs and the Sunday night bills.
Scattered thunderstorms will begin around 5 p.m. local time in Kansas City, according to weather.com, with the likelihood of rain increasing throughout the night. When the game kicks off at 7:20 p.m. CT (8:20 p.m. ET), there is a 77% chance of rain, and that climbs to 86% an hour later. These percentages enter the 90s as the game reaches the second half.
Fireworks are still expected in the battle between high power offenses (the total was 56.5 at noon ET, via Caesars Sportsbook). We’ll see soon if the expected wet conditions put a damper on things for Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills and Chiefs.
