Patch is online now

"Secret patch notes" are becoming a widespread phenomenon and a recent update of the Nintendo Switch has just taken the lead.

According to several modding communities, the 8.0.0 update includes the ability to allow the "boost mode" for specific Switch games. Think of all those "Slim" models of the previous generation hardware that allow faster loading times: it's a bit like that on Switch. It overclocks the processor in situations where it is properly tested (read: at this time, only for games in party mode) and reduces loading times, in some cases, by 10 seconds. There is other evidence that this method of overclocking could be used for visual enhancements, but additional tests are needed.

Currently, the only games that support it are Zelda: Breath of nature and Mario Odysseybut that opens the door to flooding for the future, especially if the "Switch Pro" (which will not be at all at least E3) would end up being real. Short term, Zelda This is exactly the kind of game that could benefit from faster loading times: it's the perfect opportunity for another game in addition to the VR update for breathtaking views.
