THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) – Britney Spears will not face any charges following an allegation by her housekeeper that Spears slapped her hands on a phone, prosecutors said on Wednesday.

A possible misdemeanor battery charge was denied based on insufficient evidence that a crime was committed and the housekeeper was not injured or the phone was damaged, the county prosecutor said. Ventura, Erik Nasarenko, in a statement.

The woman had called authorities after the Aug. 16 dispute with Spears over the veterinary care of Spears’ dog, Nasarenko said.

Spears has a home in Thousand Oaks, California, northwest of Los Angeles.

When it was revealed that Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating, Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosen called the incident “overkill” and “fabricated,” saying, “Anyone can lay a charge, but it should have been closed immediately ”.

The district attorney’s announcement came a day after Rosen and Spears filed new documents alleging that his father was keeping his role in the guardianship that controlled his life and money for 13 years because he was trying to earn some 2 million dollars more in fees.

Representatives for James Spears did not respond to a request for comment, but have repeatedly said his relationship with the Guardianship has always been honest and in the best interests of his daughter.
