On Monday’s broadcast of FNC’s “Fox & Friends”, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (right) vowed there will be “no more lockdowns” in his state.

As some governors and mayors increase restrictions due to peaks in coronavirus cases across the country, Abbott stressed the government should not “micromanage everyone’s lives.” He argued that “lockdowns are overrated” because the virus is easily transmitted during private gatherings.

“During the fight against the pandemic, we have all learned what works and what does not. And one thing the government doesn’t need to do is micromanage everyone’s lives, ”Abbott advised.

“We have established general guidelines for people to follow that lead to safe practices without micromanagement. Another thing that I clarified, Brian, is that there is no longer a lockout in the state of Texas, ”he continued. “And I’ll tell you this: The value people place on the symptoms of foreclosure is misplaced. Locking people up will put them in confined areas where they can transmit COVID just as easily without a protocol, and what we have found in Texas as well as elsewhere is one of the main places people transmit COVID. are found. these private gatherings. And so, the locks are overvalued. “
