VANCOUVER, Washington (AP) – Clark County Public Health has not identified new cases of measles or new exposure sites as part of its investigation into an ongoing outbreak.
Public Health Spokesperson Marissa Armstrong on Monday issued a statement saying that the number of cases of highly contagious viral disease remains at 61.
Clark County, in southwestern Washington, was the epicenter of the epidemic that began on December 31, 2018.
Of the 61 confirmed cases in Clark County, 54 were not immunized against measles. Immunization status could not be verified for five cases and two cases involved a child who had received only one dose of MMR vaccine.
The majority of confirmed cases in Clark County – 44 – involve children aged 1 to 10 years.
