NOPD arrested today (August 25, 2021) Bernard C. Nwubah (photo, black man, DDN: 20 / 08-1982) in connection with a homicide investigation on August 14, 2021 in block 2600 of the rue Dumaine.
At approximately 5:40 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call from a man at the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS. On August 16, the victim was declared dead.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Isaac Johnson.
Through an investigation, detectives from the NOPD Homicide Unit developed and positively identified Nwubah as the perpetrator of this incident and obtained an arrest warrant for one count of second degree murder.
Nwubah was located today and apprehended without incident. It was therefore reserved at the Orléans parish justice center.
