The size of the group is estimated at about 3000 people. They traveled from Honduras to El Salvador and Guatemala and arrived Friday at the border between Guatemala and Mexico.

Only two blocks from the transition stopped the group and shot, reports AP. Later Friday, the agency reported that the migrants had demolished a border port of Guatemala and crossed a bridge to get to Mexico, while Guatemala had closed the transition and had protected it from soldiers and military vehicles.

The border post on the Mexican side is protected by high strength and high metal fences. Mexican authorities deployed crew reinforcements.

The target is the United States

The migrants aim to enter Mexico and continue their journey across the country to the northern border. Most of them come from Honduras. Their dream is to go to the United States.

US President Donald Trump threatened Mexico with closing the border between the two countries of North America if the Mexican authorities did not stop the migrants' trip. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was sent to Mexico on Friday. He told his Mexican counterpart, Luis Videgaray, that the United States was facing the greatest crisis that has caused unprecedented immigration.

Washington also issued warnings in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras and said aid would be reduced if the three countries did not kick the door.
