(procycling.no): On Monday afternoon, it was confirmed that Andrea Manfredi was one of 189 people who died during aviation in Indonesia earlier in the day.
The former cyclist was a passenger of Lion Air flight JT610, which was traveling from Jakarta to Bangka Island, Indonesia.
13 minutes after departure, the plane lost a contract with the Jakarta fleet. After trying to get back to the airport, the Lion Air plane crashed into the sea of Javas, outside the capital.

Later in the day, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs could confirm that Manfredi was on board the plane. Local authorities are currently working on the accident site and assume that the 181 passengers died, in addition to cabin crew members of the aircraft, consisting of six and two pilots.
